As GDC (Game Developers Conference) kicks off today in San Francisco, Brazil brings 36 exhibitors. According to the O Estado de São Paulo newspaper this is the highest ever number representing the country at this show, one of the biggest in the world for the game industry. Last year, the Brazilian Association of Games claimed that the event generated US$ 20 mi for Brazilian companies. However, for this year, they expect to beat this amount.
The GDC website says that this show is the world’s largest professional game industry event, attracting over 27,000 attendees. Every year, programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professional, business decision-makers and others involved in the development of interactive games and virtual reality gather to exchange ideas and shape the future of the industry.
